Juan Luis Guerra is a singer-songwriter from the Dominican Republic. His popular style of merengue and Afro-Latin fusion has earned him considerable success throughout Latin America. He is also known for popularizing bachata music with his group 4.40.
The songs “Muchachita Linda” and “Tus Besos” are taken from his 13th studio album “Todo Tiene Su Hora” released in 2014. The video for “Tus Besos” is inspired by the rock’n’roll atmosphere of the 1950s. This video was directed by his son Jean Gabriel.
In 2021, Juan Luis Guerra sings his greatest hits in “Entre Mar y Palmeras”, filmed entirely live, on the beach of Miches, in the far east of the Dominican Republic.
We rediscover “Rosalía” from the album “Bachata rosa” (1990).
Juan Luis Guerra was named “UNESCO Artist for Peace” in 2008.
