Masayuki Suzuki

Originally from Tokyo, Japan, Masayuki Suzuki (nicknamed Martin) is a Japanese singer. He began his career in 1975 as the leader of the group RATS & STAR (formerly known as The Chanels until 1983) specializing in doo-wop music derived from Rhythm & Blues. Their first single “Runaway”, released in 1980, quickly became a hit, selling over a million copies.

In 1987, Masayuki Suzuki launched his solo career and the group’s activities gradually came to a halt until it disbanded in 1996.

In 2020, Masayuki Suzuki sang “DADDY! DADDY! DO!” with Airi Suzuki, the opening theme of the second season of the anime Kaguya-sama: Love is War. He had already recorded “Love Dramatic”, the opening theme of the first season.

In 2022, for the anniversary of his 35 years of solo career, he released the compilation “DISCOVER JAPAN DX” including selected songs from his three previous albums “DISCOVER JAPAN”, new songs newly recorded and covers of other series.

On this occasion, we discover the newly recorded song “Kaibutsu” covered by Yoasobi.
