Los Ángeles Azules is a Mexican musical group playing the cumbia sonidera genre, which is a cumbia subgenre that uses accordion and synthesizers.
It is an adaptation of Colombian cumbia, recorded by Mexican bands, mixing it with the electronic sounds and effects of DJs with modification of the tone of the voices and the speed of the singing.
This group was originally founded by four of the eight brothers known as the Mejía Avante family in 1976. Jorge Mejía Avante (the youngest of the family) is in charge for the composition, musical arrangements, recording and musical and artistic direction. He is responsible for the long list of musical successes of Los Ángeles Azueles.
The group has gone through different periods of popularity and different styles. He has also made numerous collaborations with guest singers.
For Jorge, the song that best represents Los Ángeles Azules is “Cómo Te Voy a Olvidar” (How am I going to forget you).
