Dheekshitha Venkadeshan (Dhee) is an Australian singer of Sri Lankan Tamil origin. Born in Jaffna, Sri Lankja, she grew up and was educated in Sydney, Australia. She is the daughter-in-law of Indian music composer Santhosh Narayanan.

Known for her distinctive alto voice, she began her career as a playback singer, performing songs on her father-in-law’s albums (“Pizza II: Villa” in 2013 and “Cuckoo” in 2014).

Success followed with the song “Naan Nee” from Pa. Ranjith in 2014 (nominations for Best Female Vocalist at the Filmfare Awards and Vijay Awards) or in 2016 for the solo songs “Ey Sandakaara” and “Usuru Narumbuley” in Sudha Kongara Prasad’s sports drama film, “Irudhi Suttru.”

In 2018, she collaborated with Yuvan Shankar Raja on the song “Rowdy Baby” in Maari 2. Sung as a duet with Dhanush, the song has garnered over 1.5 billion views on YouTube, making it the most-watched Tamil music video and one of the most-watched Indian videos of all time.

In 2021, Dhee made her debut as a pop singer under A.R. Rahman’s Maajja label, with “Enjoy Enjaami” featuring Arivu (of The Casteless Collective). The song was an instant hit, with the video having been viewed over 450 million times on YouTube.

She also continued her collaboration with Santhosh Narayanan with the song “Uttradheenga Yeppov” for the film “Karnan”.
