Tariku Gankasi is an Ethiopian musician from Jinka, a region in southern Ethiopia.
A former soldier during the war between Ethiopia and Eritrea, his music now preaches love and peace.

In 2021, his song “Dishta Gina” promoted unity and reconciliation, and quickly became popular in Ethiopia and throughout Africa. A remix of the song with Akon was even recorded later.

Since then, despite the controversy, in a country still divided after the Tigray war against the rebels of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), he has continued to sing for peace and unity.
